A free personal address
Your name, already an address.
Signing up gives you a username and an address under it on openemail.uk. It sends and receives like any other address, in a personal mailbox of its own.
In short
What is a personal mailbox?
A personal mailbox holds the mail that belongs to you rather than to a business. Every OpenEmail account comes with one on openemail.uk, under your username, kept apart from your workspaces.
How it works
Sign in with either address
Use your openemail.uk address or the email you signed up with, and the same password for both. A password reset for the new address goes to the email you signed up with.
Business mode switches sides
Business mode, in the account menu, switches between the personal mailbox and your workspaces, and switching deletes nothing. The parts that belong to a business, such as domains and the team, stay on the workspace side.
Pick it before you sign up
Choose your username in the box on the page for individuals, and signing up gives you the address under it on openemail.uk.
What you get
In the product today
Sends and receives
It works like any other address, in both directions.
Nothing lost in a switch
Switching with Business mode deletes nothing. Both sides keep their mail.
Out of reach of keys
The personal mailbox stays out of reach of API keys, connected apps and the MCP server.
Good practice
Getting the most out of it
- 01
Choose the name first
Try the names you like in the box on the page for individuals, then sign up with the one you want.
- 02
Keep your sign-up email
A password reset for the openemail.uk address goes to the email you signed up with, so keep that one working.
- 03
Keep business in a workspace
Domains, the team and billing live in your workspaces, so mail that belongs to a business sits better there.
