Several workspaces
One business, one workspace.
Each workspace has its own domains, mail, team, plan and invoices. The switcher at the top of the sidebar lists every one you own or were invited into.
In short
What is a workspace?
A workspace is where one business keeps its domains, addresses and mailbox, its team, its plan and its invoices. Run several and each business keeps its own, with nothing shared between them.
How it works
Fully separate
New workspace, in the switcher, makes another with its own domains, addresses, mailbox and team, kept apart from the rest.
A plan for each
A plan belongs to a workspace rather than to you, so each one has its own plan, limits and invoices. The owner, or a role with billing:write, manages a workspace’s plan.
Deleting takes its name and a code
Under Danger zone in its settings, type the workspace’s name and confirm with your verification code. Its plan is cancelled first, then its DNS records are released and its mail is deleted.
What you get
In the product today
All in the switcher
Every workspace you own or were invited into sits at the top of the sidebar, each with its plan.
As many as you need
Own as many paid workspaces as you need, one for each business you run.
On the API as well
Workspaces are on the REST API under /workspaces, in the SDK, on the command line as openemail workspaces and on the MCP server.
Good practice
Getting the most out of it
- 01
One business per workspace
Give each business its own workspace, so its domains, team, plan and invoices stay apart from the others.
- 02
Hand billing to a role
A role with billing:write can manage a workspace’s plan, so whoever handles the invoices does not have to be the owner.
- 03
Move what you keep first
Deleting a workspace releases its DNS records and deletes its mail. Move any domain you want to keep into another workspace before you do.

Your domain,
your mail.
Point a domain at OpenEmail and read it in a mailbox built around it. The free plan covers one domain.
