Search in plain language

What is natural language email search?
Mailbox search usually takes keywords plus operators, such as a sender or a date. Natural language search puts a model in front: you describe what you want, and it writes the query.
How it works
Type a sentence, press Enter
Enter goes to the model only when nothing you typed matches a command. Archive on its own opens the folder.
You see the query, not your words
Reopen ⌘K: the chips under Active Filters are what the model wrote. Remove one with its × and the results follow.
Only what the syntax can say
No operator reads an amount, so that part of “invoices over £200” is skipped. Results come back wider rather than empty.

Getting the most out of it

Name the sender
A company name is enough: from:stripe matches the sender's name and address.

Say when
Mention a period like last month: the model knows today's date and works out the range.

Trim, do not retype
Remove a wrong part with its chip's × instead of asking again.
