A profanity filter checks text against a list of words and acts when one turns up. The hard part is matching: a filter that wants exact spellings lets f#ck through, and one that looks inside words silences Scunthorpe.

How it works
Spacing and symbols do not slip past
Case, spacing and stretched letters are ignored, and the usual stand-ins, like 1 for i, count as letters. With idiot on your list, 1d10t, i.d.i.o.t and IDIOOOT are held too.
Whole words only, never inside one
A list holding ass leaves a message about a class alone, and the default list lets Scunthorpe through.

Add a word today and the message that made you add it is held the next time you open it.

List every form
Only whole words match, so idiot does not hold idiots. Add each form you mean.

Paste the lot
Commas, spaces and new lines all separate entries, so a whole list pastes at once.

Start from the default
Switch the default list on first, then add only the words it misses.
