Send value as color.backgroundColor to use a swatch. A gradient is drawn at 135 degrees from from to to, and solid is one hex for places a gradient cannot go, such as an icon.

A label may also carry any other hex, set through this API. The app keeps it and offers it back as its own swatch when the label is edited.
