Plain terms for a mail service you can also run yourself. If something here reads as a surprise, that is a bug in the writing and we want to hear about it. Last updated February 13, 2025.

## Overview

OpenEmail is an email service for businesses and individuals, running on domains you own. By using OpenEmail, you agree to these terms.

## Service Description

### Hosted Service

- OpenEmail runs the service and the infrastructure it sends and receives on
- Mail arrives on domains you own, and you control the DNS that points at us
- The service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind

### External Email Integration

- OpenEmail can integrate with third-party email providers
- Users must comply with third-party providers' terms of service
- We are not responsible for third-party service disruptions

## User Responsibilities

Users agree to:

- Comply with all applicable laws and regulations
- Maintain the security of their account and their workspace
- Not use the service for spam or malicious purposes
- Respect intellectual property rights
- Report security vulnerabilities responsibly
