# Undo send Fifteen seconds to take it back.

Switch it on and each message you send waits fifteen seconds before it leaves. Undo cancels it and puts it back in the composer.

## What is undo send?

Once a message is delivered to another mailbox, email offers no dependable way to pull it back. Undo send works by holding the message for a few seconds after you press send, so there is still something to stop.

How it works

## Held for fifteen seconds first

Press Undo in that time and the message is cancelled before it reaches anyone. Leave it alone and it goes out when the time is up.

## The composer comes back intact

Recipients, subject, body and attachments all return, and a new message keeps its From address. A reply or a forward reopens in its own thread.

## Off until you switch it on

Turn on Undo send in General, under Mail behaviour. Until then, a message leaves the moment you press send.

## Getting the most out of it

   Check the To line
   
   Fifteen seconds is enough to catch a wrong recipient, not to redraft a paragraph.

   Schedule for longer
   
   When you want hours to reconsider, schedule the send instead, since a scheduled message can be cancelled until it goes.

   Fix it, then resend
   
   Undo reopens the message, so fix the slip and send again for a fresh fifteen seconds.
