## What is a shared email address?

A shared address is one mailbox, such as billing@ or support@, that several people work from. The usual workarounds are forwarding its mail, which makes replying as it awkward, or sharing its password, which hands everybody everything.

How it works

## Given from the address itself

Open the address, choose Access, then Give access. Pick a level and anyone already in the workspace, and it is in their mailbox.

## Nothing is shared until they accept

Somebody new is invited from Team with the address and its level attached. Account or no account, they hold nothing until they accept.

## Role and grant both have to agree

The role says what they may do, the grant says which address. A read-only grant never enters the send check, in the app or through the assistant.

Give a whole domain and addresses made on it later come with it.

Change the level

Give it again at the other level and only the level changes.

Take it back

Remove them under Access and they can no longer read or send from it.

Confirmed with a code

Giving or removing access asks for a code, then not again for an hour.

## Getting the most out of it

   Start at read only
   
   Give read only first, and raise it once they should answer as the address.

   Check the role too
   
   A send-and-read grant still cannot send if their role has no sending, as with Viewer.

   Prefer single addresses
   
   A whole domain covers addresses made later, so give single ones unless you mean that.
