# Choose which emails we send you Two switches, two locks.

Account → Notifications lists the four kinds of email OpenEmail sends you. Activity and Product news switch off. Account and Billing stay on, with a lock that says so.

## What are email notification preferences?

Most services email you for several reasons: security, receipts, reminders and news. Preferences let you stop the kinds you do not want while the mail that keeps your account working carries on. A good settings page says plainly which is which.

How it works

## Left out before anything is built

Switch Activity off and the query that picks who gets it leaves you out. No message is built for you and then thrown away.

## Off stays off until you say

Your choice is kept as a list of the categories you turned off, and only you switching one back on removes an entry.

## Unsubscribe opens the switches

Switchable emails carry a footer link and a List-Unsubscribe header, both pointing at Account → Notifications, so your mail app's unsubscribe button opens your switches rather than stopping everything.
