## What is an email alias?

An alias is another address that lands in the same mailbox, such as billing@ or support@. Sending as an alias means your answer leaves from that address too, so the reader sees the one they wrote to.

How it works

## Pick the From on any message

The From row lists your addresses and greys out any that cannot send yet. Choose one, and your next new message opens on it too.

## A default for new messages

General settings hold the address new messages open on. A reply's arrival address and your last pick both come before it.

## The signature follows the address

Signature and open tracking come from whichever address is in the From row, so support@ can sign off differently from billing@.
