# Remote image control

Stop a sender fetching anything from their own server while you read.

## Details

- A remote image is a request to the sender’s machine carrying your IP address and the moment you opened the mail. One switch in Account → Privacy turns all of them off.
- The exceptions stay narrow: a trusted-sender list for people you name, and a show-images-once button on the message in front of you.
- Inline attachments render either way, since those arrived with the message rather than being fetched from anywhere.
- The switch ships on, so remote images load until you turn it off.
