# Snooze

Put a conversation away until a time you pick, and find it back in the inbox then.

## Details

- Snooze is in the right-click menu of a conversation and in the bar that appears when several are selected, and conversations can be dragged onto Snoozed in the sidebar. Pick a date and a time, and the conversation leaves the inbox and waits under Snoozed until then. The inbox, the archive and label views can snooze; Sent, Spam, the bin and Drafts cannot.
- It comes back within the hour. A sweep runs every hour and returns whatever is due, so a conversation can reappear up to an hour after the time you set, and opening Snoozed brings back anything already overdue straight away. It comes back as it left: it is not marked unread, and no notification is sent for it.
- New mail ends a snooze early. When a message arrives in the conversation it is back in the inbox at once, unread, like any new mail. Your own reply does not end it. Moving the conversation to the inbox, the archive, Spam or the bin cancels the snooze, snoozing it again replaces the time, and Unsnooze brings it back now.
- The same is on the REST API as POST /threads/{id}/snooze, which takes a wakeAt time, and POST /threads/{id}/unsnooze, on the SDK as threads.snooze and threads.unsnooze, on the command line as openemail snooze with --until 3h, 2d, 1w or a date, and on the MCP server as snoozeThreads and unsnoozeThreads.
