# Subscriptions

Every newsletter and mailing list that writes to you, in one place to unsubscribe from, file away or block.

## Details

- Subscriptions, in the sidebar, lists the newsletters and mailing lists that write to you, one row per sender and the address it writes to, or grouped by domain. Each row counts its unread conversations, the last 30 days and when the latest arrived, sorted by latest email, most emails, most unread or name. Newsletters, in the sidebar, is the same set as a search, is:subscription, which works in any search.
- Unsubscribe is done for you where the sender allows it. A one-click unsubscribe is sent from our servers, an emailed one goes out from the address the mail arrived at with no signature, no tracking and no copy in Sent, and a sender that only offers a web page has it opened in a new tab. On a domain, Unsubscribe from all does every sender there that offers one-click or email, and counts the ones that only offer a page. The same Unsubscribe is in the menu of an open message.
- Unsubscribed senders move to the Unsubscribed tab, which marks any still emailing you two days later. Unsubscribing cannot be undone from here: subscribe again on the sender’s own site.
- Move files what a sender has already sent into the archive, the bin or a label, and can make a rule that does the same with whatever they send next. Block stops a sender or a whole domain, the same way blocking does everywhere else.
- A message counts as a subscription when it carries a List-Unsubscribe, List-Id or X-Campaign-Id header or a bulk Precedence. Spam is left out and imported mail is included. There is no backfill: a sender is listed once mail from it arrives or is imported, and its older conversations are counted from then on.
- The same is on the REST API under /subscriptions, on the SDK as subscriptions, on the command line as openemail subscriptions and on the MCP server, so the assistant can list your subscriptions and unsubscribe for you.
