# Rewrite with AI

Three or five other versions of your subject or your body, shorter, longer or in another tone, to pick from.

## Details

- The ⋯ in the bar under the body, and the sparkle at the end of the subject row on a new message, open the same menu: Make it shorter, Make it longer, Rephrase it, More formal, More casual, or Tell it what to change in your own words.
- It writes three versions, or five if you ask, beside what you have now, each with its length. Use this puts one in place of the whole body or subject, Refine asks again from that version, and More options writes another set.
- Shorter cuts filler but keeps every fact, commitment and question, longer adds only detail that was already implied and never a new fact, and rephrase keeps the meaning, the length and the tone. Every version follows your writing style, and a reply reads the last eight messages of the conversation first.
- It works on the whole body or the whole subject, never on a selection. Each set of versions spends one AI action, and nothing is stored.
- The same is on the REST API as POST /emails/rewrite, on the SDK as emails.rewrite, on the command line as openemail emails rewrite and on the MCP server as rewriteEmail.
