# A free personal address

Every account comes with yourname@openemail.uk, an address that sends and receives, kept apart from your workspaces.

## Details

- Signing up gives you a username and an address under it on openemail.uk, in a personal mailbox of its own. It sends and receives like any other address, and you can sign in with it as well as with the email you signed up with, using the same password. A password reset for it goes to the email you signed up with.
- The personal mailbox is kept apart from your workspaces. Business mode, in the account menu, switches between them, and switching deletes nothing: both sides keep their mail. In the personal mailbox the parts that belong to a business are hidden: domains, the team, billing, API keys, webhooks, audiences, broadcasts and forms.
- A username is 3 to 30 lower-case letters, numbers and single dots, and it is permanent once set: only support can change it. You can pick it before signing up, in the box on the page for individuals.
- It stays out of reach of API keys, connected apps and the MCP server, which work with business workspaces only, and the personal mailbox has no members and no plan of its own.
