# Move a domain between workspaces

Take a domain, its addresses and all their mail from one of your workspaces to another.

## Details

- Move is in the Workspace section of a domain’s Settings tab, under Settings → Domains. Pick another business workspace you own and confirm with your verification code, and new mail for the domain lands there straight away.
- The addresses and their settings, conversations, drafts, files, sent history and tracking, broadcasts, calendar events, encryption keys, subscriptions and password sign-ins move. Rules, contacts, audiences, templates, API keys, webhooks and members stay where they were, and anyone who is not a member of the other workspace loses access to the addresses.
- Older mail follows in the background while OpenEmail is open, and closing it pauses the move until you are back. A move cannot be cancelled once it starts, and the workspace it left gets a domain.deleted webhook saying the domain moved.
- A DNS provider connection moves with the domain when the other workspace is connected to the same account; otherwise the records stay as they are and syncing stops until you connect the provider there.
- It is refused while the domain is already moving, an import is running, a broadcast from it is scheduled or sending, a scheduled message with a draft or files is waiting, or the other workspace has no room for the domain or its addresses. It happens in the app only: an API key or a connected app reaches one workspace, so none of them can move a domain out of it.
