# Create a form

Makes a draft from `document`, from a `starter`, or from a one-field email form when you send neither, and returns the whole form. Send `publish: true` to put it live in the same call.

`POST /forms`

## POST /forms

Makes a draft from `document`, from a `starter`, or from a one-field email form when you send neither, and returns the whole form. Send `publish: true` to put it live in the same call.

## Example

Needs `forms:write`, and `emails:send` as well when it turns on double opt-in, names a sender or sets the confirmation email.

**curl**

```
curl -X POST "$OE/forms" -H "$AUTH" -H 'content-type: application/json' -d '{
  "name": "Newsletter sign-up",
  "starter": "newsletter",
  "settings": {
    "audienceIds": ["aud_4c1b8e2a7d9f05c36b4e8a71"],
    "doubleOptIn": true,
    "senderAddress": "news@acme.com"
  },
  "publish": true
}'
```

> `settings` takes any subset of the settings, and the rest keep their defaults.

> Every audience in `settings.audienceIds`, and in an `audiences` field, has to be an audience you can reach in this workspace, or the answer is 404 `audience_not_found`.

> A double opt-in form needs `settings.senderAddress`, an address you may send as. A sender that cannot send is refused with 422 `form_sender_refused`.

> When `publish` is true and the form cannot be published, nothing is created.

> A workspace holds 100 forms by default. The next one is refused with 422 `workspace_limit_reached`.
