# Change an event

Changes an event you organise and sends the update to everyone invited.

`PATCH /calendar/events/{id}`

## PATCH /calendar/events/{id}

Changes an event you organise and sends the update to everyone invited.

## Example

Needs `calendar:write`, and `emails:send` while the event has attendees. A field left out keeps its value, and `attendees` replaces the whole list.

**curl**

```
curl -X PATCH "$OE/calendar/events/cal_3f9a1c7e5b2d48a06c1e9f4b" -H "$AUTH" -H 'content-type: application/json' -d '{
  "start": "2026-10-12T10:00:00Z",
  "end": "2026-10-12T10:30:00Z"
}'
```

**Response**

```
{
  "object": "calendar_event",
  "id": "cal_3f9a1c7e5b2d48a06c1e9f4b",
  "sequence": 1,
  "summary": "Planning",
  "start": "2026-10-12T10:00:00.000Z",
  "end": "2026-10-12T10:30:00.000Z",
  "status": "CONFIRMED"
}
```

> An event organised by somebody else is a 403 `not_organizer`, so answer it with `POST /calendar/events/{id}/respond` instead.

> `sendInvites: false` changes it on your own calendar and sends nothing.
