# Cancel a meeting

Calls off a meeting you organise and tells everyone invited, as Cancel meeting does in the app.

`POST /calendar/events/{id}/cancel`

## POST /calendar/events/{id}/cancel

Calls off a meeting you organise and tells everyone invited, as Cancel meeting does in the app.

## Example

Needs `calendar:write`, and `emails:send` when the meeting has attendees. The body is optional, and `from` picks the address the cancellation comes from.

**curl**

```
curl -X POST "$OE/calendar/events/cal_3f9a1c7e5b2d48a06c1e9f4b/cancel" -H "$AUTH" -H 'content-type: application/json' -d '{ "from": "team@acme.com" }'
```

**Response**

```
{
  "object": "calendar_event",
  "id": "cal_3f9a1c7e5b2d48a06c1e9f4b",
  "sequence": 2,
  "summary": "Planning",
  "status": "CANCELLED"
}
```

> The event stays on the calendar with `status` `CANCELLED`. To take it off without telling anybody, delete it instead.
