# Delete an automation

Deletes an automation for good, with its versions, the record of who went through it and its numbers. The emails it already sent are kept, like any other email.

`DELETE /automations/{id}`

## DELETE /automations/{id}

Deletes an automation for good, with its versions, the record of who went through it and its numbers. The emails it already sent are kept, like any other email.

## Example

Needs `automations:write`. An OAuth app is asked for a verification code first.

**curl**

```
curl -X DELETE "$OE/automations/aut_7c2e9a1f4b8d30c65e1a9f27" -H "$AUTH"
```

**Response**

```
{
  "object": "automation",
  "id": "aut_7c2e9a1f4b8d30c65e1a9f27",
  "deleted": true
}
```

> To stop an automation and keep its history, archive it instead.
